USHO Formalizes Season Format
The United Senior Hockey Organization (USHO) has officially unveiled plans for its highly anticipated inaugural season, marking a bold step forward in the evolution of senior-level hockey in the United States. The league will consist of eight geographically based conferences, each housing 8 teams. Spanning 45 of the 50 states, the USHO aims to bring competitive, community-based hockey to nearly every corner of the country, providing a national platform for adult players while fostering regional rivalries and local fan engagement.
Teams across the league will compete in a 32-game regular season, with all matchups scheduled exclusively on weekends. This schedule is designed to accommodate players' weekday work commitments while creating a consistent, fan-friendly format that maximizes attendance and local involvement. The season will run from early November through the beginning of March, offering a full winter slate of action-packed hockey in cities and towns that have long craved affordable, accessible sports entertainment.
As the regular season concludes, the playoff format will elevate the stakes. The top two teams from each division will qualify for their respective conference playoffs, resulting in a fierce, localized postseason battle to determine the conference champions. The eight conference champions will then advance to the national championship tournament, where they will face off in a single-elimination bracket to crown the first-ever USHO national champion. The format promises high-intensity matchups and a clear path from regional success to national glory.
